a bonehead thing I did today
So you remember when I was talking about side duties, and the assigning thereof? Well, we have a whiteboard in the kitchen area on which the closing server posts said duties. That whiteboard is forever besmirched. In my own defense, though, who puts a permanent marker on a whiteboard ledge? I am never going to hear the end of this one.

People will never stop talking about your amazing powers once you remove that permanent marker with this tip I read on Lifehacker: Just trace over all the marks you made in permanent marker with a dry-erase marker, and then erase it. Gone!
Hahha... we actually tried that. Luckily, I work at a ghetto-fabulous restaurant, where the one working dry-erase marker was, unfortunately, quite dry. In the not so much with the working sense. So then the manager told me to use some of the cutlery pre-soak on it. The board is now a mass of dark smudges, and some of the names are still legible. I am the worst employee of the month ever.
In that case, the key to removing permanent marker from a whiteboard is with a fresh coat of white paint. Too lazy to whitewash your own whiteboard? Wait until a co-worker comes by and pretend that maybe it is work and maybe it ain't but all you know is that it suits you. Before you know it, he'll have gladly swapped his barely eaten apple for the chance whitewash your whiteboard.
Thank you for noticing! I just had it cut yesterday.
